Overview America's Promise - The Alliance for Youth was founded at the Presidents' Summit for America's Future in 1997. The Five Promises to children are at the core of America's Promise and are as follows: Caring Adults; Safe Places; a Healthy Start; Marketable Skills; and Opportunities to Serve.

Overview John Gomperts is the current President and CEO of America’s Promise Alliance. This collection primarily focuses on his time working with the Corporation for National and Community Service, first as Chief of Staff and later as the Director of AmeriCorps.
